Some girls dream of their wedding day and the dress they will be wearing down the aisle their whole lives, and some do not think about it until the moment they start to plan for that big day. Our job is to find you the perfect wedding dress no matter how much thought you have put into this! Everyone here from Bridal Suite Boutique wants to share personal tips leading up to your ‘Say Yes To the Dress’ moment.
You have more than one decision to make when it comes to shopping for your wedding dress, and many women are not prepared for that. It is very important to assess your budget. How much are you willing to spend on your dress? While considering this question you have to consider your wants.
If having a lot of sparkle and bling on your wedding dress is a factor, then you should know that most wedding dresses with that dazzle effect cost slightly more due to the effort and materials put into making the dress. Now, that being said, it does not mean simpler and cleaner wedding dresses are much cheaper. Whether you are buying a wedding dress with clean lace or a nice crepe, is still important to not skimp in the paying process. You get what you pay for, and cheap material and construction can affect how the dress holds up throughout your special day, and how it is photographed.
Here at Bridal Suite Boutique we like to think we created a happy medium. Our wedding dresses are put at a high standard of quality without breaking the bank. We feel our range of $1,200 – $3,000 gives our brides the quality they deserve and the ideal look for they want, while not being unrealistic money wise.
Remember that veils and accessories should be a factor in budget, along with alterations. Alterations are essential to your wedding look. Women can have a gorgeous and expensive dress, but it will not look the part if they skimped on professional alterations.
The next aspect you should consider is what type of store from which you would want to purchase your wedding dress. If you are interested in a personalized and customer service savvy experience, small boutiques are your best bet. If you are more concerned with the name and “fame” of where you go and do not mind hustle and bustle, then larger retailers or chain stores will not bother you. Large stores can be stressful. Boutiques commonly specialize in bridal, rather than prom/evening dresses, AND bridal.
Being a small boutique store, we pride ourselves in the love and care we show each of our customers and their loved ones. Consider the location of your store also. Some brides like to buy close to home, while others are not bothered by traveling.
We know wedding planning can be stressful, and and we vow to do as much as we can to make your dress an aspect that causes you no worry or dread. Now that you have a budget planned and have a good idea of where to shop, we try our best to help with the rest. It is recommended you walk in with ideas or pictures of what you envision for yourself.
Consider color – white, ivory, blush, champagne, etc., types of silhouette – fit and flare, ball gown, sheath, A-line, mermaid, etc., and neckline – straps, high neck, strapless, sweetheart, long sleeves, etc. Many girls have not a clue in the world, and that is completely ok! The only thing we ask is that you walk into appointments with an open mind. You would be surprised how many girls walk in with their dress planned to a tee, and walk out with something the complete opposite!
In your appointment, try on different options and looks. The only way you will know for sure if you do not like something is trying it on. There is a common misconception that you can not find your dress at your first appointment, but it is very possible to do! If you are in love with the dress and wouldn’t change a thing about it, embrace your say yes to the dress moment! Many of our brides say yes in their first appointment with out any regrets, and love the dress even more when it comes in!
A few other pointers we give is to keep your group small when you attend shopping appointments. We know you want to include everyone you love, but more than four people can be extremely overwhelming for brides. Unfortunately, some learn the hard way.
I speak for everyone here at Bridal Suite Boutique, when I say we hope this helps with your journey down the aisle, and wish you the best with all of your wedding planning. All of our staff love what we do and nothing compares with sharing the pure joy with the woman and families who come through our door. We are waiting for all our future brides with open arms, and cannot wait to help you find the dress that you will be wearing while celebrating your love.
