Nicole & Andy’s Intimate Couples Boudoir Session
Cherry Hill, NJ
It’s probably not something you’ve thought about, or even heard about until recently. But couples boudoir is something that I feel every couple deserves to experience. It is perfect time to relax with each other, slow down from every day life, and goof around with each other.
I want to share with you our experience and photos from Nicole and Andy’s couples boudoir photo shoot.
When I was talking with Nicole about their couples boudoir shoot initially, she sounded a bit nervous but trusted us 110%! “I always wanted to do a boudoir shoot and never felt like I was ready, but if my husband is there I will feel more comfortable.” she said. Nicole and Andy have known each other for almost 20, yes you read that right, TWENTY years and they will be celebrating their 11th wedding anniversary! This was the perfect way to celebrate their love for each other!
We talked about the spaces in her home that she loved, and she sent me pictures of everything. She and Andy had stenciled a beautiful accent wall in their bedroom, and they had so many beautiful windows. When I told her how much I loved that wall, she said she was thinking of moving the bed against that wall, obviously she was committed! They had also recently re-done their bathroom with an amazing rainforest shower with a giant glass door. Every part of their house was perfect!
On the morning of the shoot it was thunder storming and gloomy. It smelled like spring showers and it was the perfect day to stay in and snuggle. When we got there they house was even more amazing than in the pictures, not to mention how welcoming Nicole and Andy were. They gave us a quick tour and we slowly set up our gear and talked about their wardrobe. We decided to go super casual in the beginning to get some more comfy and relaxed pictures.
We started out with them sitting next to each other on the bed. We had them lean against each other and just start talking to each other. They naturally held each other like no one else was in the room. We started talking to them about the life they built together, and the little boys who called them mom and dad. After a little while, their nerves just went away.
We definitely wanted to get some shots of just Nicole as well, and she nailed it. She put on a lacy black body suit and a floral kimono style throw. By this point in the shoot, we had gotten to know them more and Nicole looked so relaxed and so cute! After a few of those shots we had Andy sneak in and wrap his arms around her.
Next up was the shower… We were most excited for these. We went in and set up some flashes, and I told Andy and Nicole how to stand. It’s not easy being photographed nude but they nailed these photos. They are so real and fun, and they are some of my favorites from the whole couples boudoir shoot! We had to open the window because it was getting steamy in there…in more than one sense…
After we got the shower shots, Andy and Nicole dried off and got in comfier clothes. We all went downstairs to warm up with some coffee in their kitchen. They told us about their mug collection and talked about their wedding, 11 years ago. They reminisced on when they met and how much has changed since that day, and how hilarious their little boys are.
I then noticed a piano out of the corner of my eye and asked if they played. Andy happened to be the family pianist, so he played Nicole a song as she sang along. I love the way she’d smile at him when he missed a key or two, and the way he looked at her even after all these years.
With every moment that we captured you could see the comfortable love they have for each other. The kind of love that only comes after years of knowing each other. The kind that is not always about the butterflies, but is more about those short kisses on the neck as you walk past. It’s comfortable and wonderful, and adventurous at exactly the right times.
A few days after the shoot, Nicole messaged us.
“Andy and I talked about how we haven’t spent 3 hours just chatting and talking to each other like that in some time and are making more time to cuddle and just be together without distractions. It really is like a cool therapy that you put us through. Thanks again and we are 100% making a print for our bedroom.“
Nicole and Andy, thank you for welcoming us into your gorgeous home to capture your love.
