Katie and Jason are two sweet souls with super goofy senses of humor and lots of love. They are so fun and we certainly had quite the party at their West Windsor Ballroom reception, which is why it isn’t a surprise that it was on New Year’s Eve!
We started out with Katie and her girls as they got ready for the day. Katie was getting her makeup done and her little flower girl kept coming in and peeking. Everyone was excited and laughing. We went down to their suite to get Katie in her dress while everyone finished up their hair and makeup. One thing I will always love about their wedding is how they all just busted out laughing ALL. THE. TIME. It was contagious and no one ever had a straight face! I got some detail shots of her beautiful bright flowers and jewelry. Her dad gave her a special gift and it was so thoughtful!
While I was getting ready with the girls, Andy went to get pictures of Jason getting ready with his guys. And, you guessed it, more laughing! They were so fun. They were both so excited for the first look and they were all finished getting ready, Andy scoped out a spot with Jason down the road. Katie and I headed to the spot a few minutes after and she snuck up behind Jason. They were so happy and even though it was so chilly, they were troopers!
We did portraits in a little spot in the woods where the light was beautiful and the trees were all bare. I couldn’t feel my fingers after but it was so worth it! Katie’s dress was a beautiful silk trumpet gown with lace details. The lace cap sleeves were the perfect romantic touch to compliment her beautiful train! The blue jewelry she wore was a perfect match with Katie’s bright eyes. Jason looked so snazzy in his black suit with silver details. His vest and tie combo were on point!
After the sun set, we headed back to the hotel for bridal party portraits. We warmed up inside for a few minutes and took their family photos! We headed outside one last time to get some night shots of Katie and Jason and their bridal party. They were all troopers in the cold and we got some really fun shots! When we came back inside, we went back up to the hotel room to warm up before the ceremony. We got to get some pictures of them all goofing around, it was so them!
The ceremony was so sweet and simple. The whole audience of friends and family looking on warmed them right up and it was so beautiful! After the ceremony they got to head off to the cocktail hour while we got some details of the reception room at the West Windsor Ballroom. They had the cutest little hangover first aid kits as the favors, they were so unique! They party supplies was spread out every where and everyone was so excited for the ball to drop!
Finally the countdown came and EVERYONE got on the West Windsor Ballroom dance floor to count and have their first kisses of the new year! Katie and Jason dance the rest of the night away and it was the perfect way to end the day AND start the new year!
Thank you Katie and Jason for having us be a part of your big day!
