Celebrate your engagement with our engagement photography experience
Planning your Engagement Session
Now that you have picked a date, a photographer and probably a venue as well, you can celebrate! Those are some of the toughest decisions in wedding planning and you can cross them off your list! Hooray!! Now on to the fun stuff…. like your engagement session!
At engagement sessions we are not only able to capture a beautiful photo of you two together, but also have a chance to capture this exciting new stage of life. During your engagement session, you’ll have the chance to get to know us, experience how we shoot and how we handle posing and lighting.
Scheduling your Session
Your engagement session can be scheduled anytime before your wedding day. I normally suggest booking it at least 3-6 months in advance (or as soon as you book us) to avoid stress and to reserve your spot! Our calendar fills up fast in the Fall and Spring.
Because our weekends are usually filled with weddings, I shoot engagement sessions on weekday evenings, normally 3 hours before sunset.

During your Session
As you start to plan for your engagement shoot, you will need to start brainstorming about location ideas and activities that you want to enjoy at your shoot! You heard that right, I said ACTIVITY!
We want to capture you as a couple realistically, and have a good time while doing that. In order to capture your true emotions and show your real personalities, we like to do activities that you would ACTUALLY do. Not just frolicking through a random field while gazing into each other eyes (although there is definitely a time and place for that!).
Do not shy away from really adventurous ideas! The more creative, the better! Be sure to keep reading to find out more about outfit ideas and inspiration!
Typically we start out in our clients homes or somewhere for an activity. This is a great way to incorporate any pets as well! Sometimes we even get a little more intimate with some couples boudoir.
We can also start somewhere else, doing an activity you both enjoy. With previous clients, we’ve gone hiking, bowling, visited a winery or brewery, gone to a local fair/carnival and many more.
We’d be happy to make some suggestions, but keep in mind we want to do something that you both enjoy and maybe even a bit sentimental. We focus on the connection between the both of you.
