Dance in the Rain
Cait and Mike’s Wedding – Lambertville Station Inn
Any of our brides can tell you that we love all types weather. We love rain, snow and sun. I tell everyone this at our first initial meeting. So when we checked the forecast for Caitlyn and Mike’s wedding day at the Lambertville Station Inn, I was super pumped. I know how adventurous they are and I knew they would be up for anything, even taking their pictures in the rain with cute umbrellas and stopping traffic!
We arrived at the beautiful Lambertville Station Inn to welcome Caitlyn and her bridesmaids into the bridal suite. The skies were a blue-ish grey and it was a little sticky out, but the light coming through those windows was magical. All the girls got there and everyone was excited, but mostly hungry. They didn’t waste any time on ordering some pizza while getting ready. Andy and I headed down to see Mike and his groomsman. When we got there they were all watching TV and ALSO eating pizza, this bridal party obviously knew how to party.
The bathroom is huge and they have this gorgeous tub, right by these huge windows overlooking the Delaware River. So right before Caitlyn got in to her dress, I asked her if we could get some bath tub boudoir shots. I love boudoir and I think these were the perfect touch to her getting ready time! The Lambertville Station Inn’s bridal suite is one of our all time favorites.
Can you say hello gorgeous details? Caitlyn had her shoes dyed green to match her theme perfectly and it was an awesome pop of color to spice up her look for the day! Her flowers were so delicate and I adored the seeded eucalyptus. And lets not forget THAT DRESS. It fit Caitlyn like a glove and the fit and flare looked incredible. The elegant lace was complimented with a super fun tulle bottom. This dress was definitely made just for HER!
Not long after, it was time for the ceremony! Caitlyn couldn’t stop smiling as she held her dad’s hand and walked down the stairs. The ceremony was so sweet and I loved watching their family look on.
After the family portraits we headed to the reception space to take some portraits. We took a few shots and then looked outside. I looked at Caitlyn to see if she would still want to go outside for portraits, and explained that there was definitely a chance that they would get wet and it would be totally okay. Her response was “Heck yeah!”. I knew I liked her for a reason, such adventure! We walked to the bridge that crossed over the Delaware river from Lambertville into New Hope. Our assistant James walked halfway down the bridge and literally walked onto the road and STOPPED moving TRAFFIC. The bridge guard was slightly terrified but no one got hurt and we got the most amazing shots of the day right there! I was so glad we didn’t let a little rain stop up! After the bridge, we took Caitlyn and Mike over to the abandoned railroad tracks and got some more umbrella shots even though Caitlyn’s shoes were staining her feet green from the puddles.
We arrived back at the reception at the Lambertville Station Inn. We started the entrances into the amazing reception space. The sunset was bright orange and pink through the windows as Caitlyn and Mike shared their first dance. They looked at each other and laughed together all night long. Their family and friends danced right alongside them and spent the rest of the night having fun on the dance floor!
Caitlyn and Mike’s reception was decorated perfectly and they had the best favors!
Thank you so much Caitlyn and Mike for such a wonderful and adventurous day! We had a blast and can’t wait to work with you more!
