Molly and Travis are the amazing parents to 4 adorable little ones. Brooklyn is the the happiest little 6-month and Landond, Logan and Declan love her unconditionally. When Molly asked me to come do their in home lifestyle photos, I was ecstatic. With her fluffy untamable blonde hair, she fits right in with her brothers. When she plays with them, she knows how to yell out and make herself known, but she also enjoys her quiet snuggle times with mom. I knew we had to do something special for this shoot. Something that was fun, and also extra girly at the same time. I was chatting back and forth with Molly about bathtub Ideas, and we decided it would be a perfect theme for Brooklyn’s shoot! I had picked up an old porcelain tub at an antique market about 5 years ago, and I’ve only gotten to use it a couple times, so naturally, I jumped at the chance to use it for her lifestyle photos.
What was your thoughts on having a girl after having 3 boys?
“Of course everyone would say to me “oh, you’re going to for that girl!?” when they found out I was pregnant with my fourth after already having 3 boys. I always replied with, “not really, we always planned on having 4 and I’ll be happy either way!” Which was true, and I felt the need to stick up for this little child in case if was another boy! However, in all honesty, when I was pregnant with my second boy, I started dreaming of having 3 boys then a girl at the end… Unlike the previous three, this time we decided to have the ultrasound tech just write down the gender on a piece of paper instead of finding out in the ultrasound room. She gave the paper to my husband at the end, but he couldn’t handle waiting one more second! He ripped it open and I knew that it was a girl as his eyes immediately got red and teary! I was truly a dream come true!”
When I got to the Biggs house for their lifestyle photo shoot, Brooklyn was as happy as could be in her Aunt Alli’s lap bouncing away. I wanted to warm her up to me so we cooed back and forth until she gave me a big smile. Molly and I walked around their beautiful house to find the perfect spot to put the tub for the end of the shoot. We decided to go for the kitchen because the light was just incredible, and it reminded me of when we have to wash kids in the sink, which always makes me laugh!
We started the lifestyle photos upstairs on Molly’s bed, because her bedspread and headboard matched Brooklyn’s tutu perfectly. This is their prime snuggle spot, so Brooklyn felt very comfortable and cracked up at her mom and it made for the best photos. After her Tutu pictures, we headed downstairs for some pictures in front of their front door, because I’m obsessed with front doors and the sun lit up the entire foyer. She laughed away and we made funny sounds and and tried to get her attention. I wish I had a behind the scenes video, because we probably all looked like monkeys haha!
Why did you guys pick the name Brooklyn?
“Travis and I started dating in high school, and even back then he loved the name Brooke. So we were pretty set on that name if we ever had a girl. However, our boys are Landon, Logan, and Declan, So I liked how Brooklyn flowed with their names.”
NEXT UP, the tub!
Molly got Brooklyn the CUTEST little lacey bathing suit for the shoot. Aunt Alli held Brooklyn while Molly tried to make bubbles. I say tried, because it took Molly the whole shoot to find a soap that ACTUALLY made bubbles that lasted. It seemed like such a simple thing, but it was actually very hard! We had everyone blowing bubbles from the sides and Brooklyn splashed away. When her big brother came upstairs to figure out what we were doing she lit right up. You certainly can see how much she loves all her brothers, it made my heart smile!
After making the biggest mess, Brooklyn was off to get dried off while we tried to sop of SOME of the water that the kitchen was flooded with! It was so messy, but SO worth it!
What is your favorite thing about having 4 kiddos?
“The best thing about having four is the constant entertainment- both for us and for themselves! Someone is always making us laugh (and let’s be serious, keeping us on our toes!) It’s crazy how different each one is, I just love that. As I type this, I’m listening to the boys yelling and laughing in the basement, and Brooklyn is sitting on Travis’s lap enjoying enjoying her new found talent of babbling and giggling, knowing it makes her daddy laugh! With 4 kids ages 7 mo-6 years, every day feels like a circus. It’s exhausting, chaotic, loud, challenging, but everyday night as we finish tucking everyone into bed, I feel so incredibly blessed that this circus is mine!”
