Carolyn and Michael are two fun and easy going people who we immediately got along with! We were so excited for their spring wedding at the Battleground Country Club and knew we’d be having a lot of fun. The day started off overcast so we were hoping that the rain would hold off just long enough to get our portraits done after the ceremony! It finally started smelling like spring, and the days were getting a little longer, it was the perfect day for a wedding!
We started off with getting ready at their hotel. The girls were all together in one suite and everyone chatted away while Carolyn got her makeup done. We got pictures of all her details next and they all came together so beautifully. Carolyn’s Gown was a trumpet gown with beaded lace on the bodice and a full tulle skirt with a beautiful train. The lilies and roses in her bouquet complimented her whole look. My favorite detail was a special handkerchief from Carolyn’s Pappy, which she MAY have used a few times during the day!
As the girls were finishing getting ready, we went down to Michael’s room to get some shots of the guys all getting ready. Michael was definitely excited and I asked him if he was nervous. His answer was this: “I’m nervous. But I’m not nervous about marrying Carolyn, she is the love of my life, that’s the easy part. I AM nervous about standing up in front of everyone though!” I feel like his statement perfectly sums up how most grooms feel on their wedding day!
After the guys were all dressed, they got picked up by the limo and they were off to the chapel.
Carolyn’s mom and bridesmaids helped get her into her gown and put on all her final touches. Then we sprayed the last spritz of perfume and Dahlia Divin, got on Carolyn’s Badgely Mischka’s and we were off! The girls sang and danced all the way to the church and I was so excited to see Michael’s reaction when he saw his bride. The church had amazing stained glass windows and so much room! The ceremony was so special and celebrated some very missed loved ones who could not be there on the day. I loved that Carolyn’s brothers walked her down the isle, it was perfect. I loved the looks Carolyn and Michael exchanged throughout the whole ceremony and you could see how in love they were.
After they said “I DO!” we all headed Battleground Country Club for portraits! They weather held off so that we could get some shots of everyone without ANYONE getting rained on! We had a wonderful golf cart driver who took us around to all the best spots and we got some amazing portraits of the two of them!
After the portraits it was time to head inside and PARTY the night away! The dance floor was on fire and there was REAL fire outside in the fire pit of course! The tables and décor were beautifully coordinated and we especially love the little succulent favors! We headed out one last time to get some night portraits. These are some of my favorite shots from the WHOLE day and I love how cozy and snuggled up they were!
Carolyn and Michael, thank you guys so much for letting us be a part of your big day!
